Steve Beddall DipM MCIM AIMC
Steve Beddall is Principal of Animus.  He is a regular speaker on management issues at veterinary meetings, both within the UK and overseas.  He advises practices on management training and marketing issues, specialising in strategic planning and working with owners to improve practice profitability.  Much of his time is now spent producing goodwill valuations and helping those selling their practice or guiding those making practice purchases.

 

He is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.  This status is only granted to those whose CPD is consistently maintained at a high level.  Steve holds a distinction in the Institute’s Diploma.  He is also an Associate member of the Institute of Management Consultants.

 

Steve was formerly Managing Director of a veterinary pharmaceutical company and he has a solid grounding with many years' experience of working with veterinary practices.

 

 

Maggie Shilcock Bsc (Zoo) Post Grad Dip Lib CMS

Maggie Shilcock is a veterinary management advisor and course provider for Animus.  She has a special interest in support staff and management training.  Maggie, a zoology graduate with a post graduate degree in Information Science, has worked in the management field of veterinary practice for the last 15 years.  She was Practice Manager at a 12 vet mixed practice in Yorkshire until 1999. She has written 3 veterinary management books, “Interviewing and Recruiting Veterinary Staff”, “The Veterinary Support Team” and “Veterinary Practice Management - A Practical Guide”.  She was President of the Veterinary Practice Management Association in 2003 and Editor of its journal, “Veterinary Management for Today” for seven years.  She now sits on the Association’s PR committee.  Maggie contributes management articles to many of the major veterinary journals and has spoken at UK and International veterinary management conferences and meetings.
